Good morning, Greeley.

Last month, city council reviewed Greeley's first urban forest strategic plan that aims to add cooling shade, boost air quality and provide wildlife habitat as tree coverage grew from 6.3% in 2009 to 8.2% today—while raising forestry department personnel costs from over $500,000 in 2019 to nearly $1 million in 2023. City planners say the plan focuses on managing growth in the southwestern area amid city expansion.

Tribal leaders from two Colorado reservations said the state's ban on online sports betting hurt their efforts to earn money and broke old promises—this dispute follows a pipeline spill that harmed local water.

The tribes said they will review legal options soon while state officials defended the ruling to support water projects.
