  • The City of Greeley will host a community visioning event for a subarea plan in western Greeley on July 9 at 6 p.m. at the Aims Welcome Center (4901 West 20th Street), where walkability expert Jeff Speck will speak and guide activities to gather residents’ input.  City of Greeley

  • After 27 years, Bob O’Connor is set to retire at the end of 2025 as Weld Food Bank’s CEO—he began as the Director of Operations in 1998 and helped boost produce distribution from 2.2 million to over 6 million pounds last year.   • Metallica is in Denver for their M72 World Tour with a show today at Empower Field at Mile High and another on Sunday, as a pop-up shop at Sports Castle drew long lines.   • A drought update showed little overall change in Colorado but northwest counties—Moffat and Routt—moved into severe drought while western areas remain in extreme drought with rising wildfire concerns. Southeastern regions and the Denver metro area stayed drought free after spring storms, and the 90-day outlook calls for warmer temperatures across the state.  CBS Colorado
  • A state agency issued a violation Thursday to Noble Energy—Chevron’s subsidiary—for an oil and gas spill on April 6 at Bishop Well in Weld County that injured one person and forced more than a dozen residents to evacuate their homes.  1310 KFKA
