Good morning, Greeley.

Greeley man Efren Sanchez, age 39, was convicted on 50 counts of attempted murder for returning to the Rancho El Corazon bar in August 2022 while armed with a rifle after a dispute and firing rounds that injured two—he now faces a minimum 400-year prison sentence and will return to court on June 13 for sentencing.

State lawmakers in Colorado proposed a fee on auto insurance—citing the state's fifth highest rates nationally—and they believe the fee will help lower accident-related costs.

Evans has a budget shortfall and is proposing to raise its mill levy from 3.53 mills to 15.49 mills—if passed, property taxes will reach $15.49 for every $1,000 of home value, though most residents oppose the steep increase.

On April 21, the Colorado Attorney General's Office settled with Compliance Services Colorado after it mailed ads that seemed to be official invoices from the Secretary of State, and the company refunded ($95,631) evenly to 3,640 Colorado businesses.

The settlement bars the company from filing future reports on behalf of business owners (a move to enforce clear advertising rules).
