- ➤ Greeley will host its community-wide Spring Clean-Up Weekend on April 25 and 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. rain or shine, with three designated drop-off sites for household hazardous materials, yard waste and other debris. - ➤ The Holocaust Memorial Observances of Greeley and Northern Colorado will host a series of events next week, starting April 6 through April 13 in Greeley and Eaton, featuring a memorial service, films and presentations including one by survivor Janet Singer Applefield. A public presentation is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 at Aims Community College’s Welcome Center and almost all events remain free. 1310 KFKA
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On April 3, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Greeley a $1.38 million grant to improve intersection safety and efficiency. The pilot program will install devices at 43 intersections and equip 50 vehicles with connected technology to prioritize emergency services—three busy intersections will also get pedestrian detection systems to better protect walkers, with work expected to finish by December.
